Easy tour of Vipava valley

(Family cycling tour of Vipava valley)

This cycling route takes you along the Vipava river, where you can enjoy the tranquillity and even go for a swim on a hot summer day. On the way back stop at Vipavski Križ for refreshments. The route is also suitable for children, as it does not contain many steep climbs. On the main road take a left turn into Batuje industrial zone, where a sign directs you. Continue along the macadam road along the railway. When you cross the Vipava river for the second time, you will see several natural pools along the way, where you can stop. From the village Male Žablje you can extend your trip by visiting BIKE|STOP|ENJOY point Darovi Vipvaske, which is a perfect stop for refreshments and a break. You can easily return to Saksida resort by following back the same road by the railway.

E-bike tour of Vipava valley

(Cycling circuit of Vipava Valley – suitable for electric bikes)

This slightly longer trip takes you through the valley of river Branica, from where you ascend to Vipava Valley. An astonishing view over the valley’s vineyards to Nanos, Čaven and Gora awaits you. On the way back to the resort you will cycle on country roads and experience some of the most beautiful corners of our valley. We recommend making a stop at the bike point Hiša posebne sorte in Kodereti village, paying a visit to village Goče, a BIKE|STOP|ENJOY point for refreshment: Molendini Summer Bar in Manče village, as well as visiting Darovi Vipavske in Vipavski Križ. The trip is more varied and a real pleasure on electric bikes.

E-bike tour of Karst

The cycling trip takes you to Karst, which is famous for its stone, wine Teran and prosciutto. The trip begins by ascending over the pass Železna vrata (Iron door pass), which offers an astonishing views over the valley, all the way to the Alps. Once you conquer the slope, a calm cycling through the kasrt villages awaits you; here you will be able to admire the skill of stonemasons shows in the authentic karst architecture. Following the side roads and macadam paths you will arrive in the village of Štanjel; which deserves some time to explore and to refresh yourself. The only thing still awaiting you is a descent to the Branica valley and an easy cycling back to Saksida resort. Since the trip is quite varied, an electric bike is most suitable for it.

E-MTB tour Cerje

This challenging MTB tour will award you with great views from the Alps to Adriatic sea! Route takes you mainly on gravel and forest roads and requires some off-road riding experience. On the way you`ll stop at monumental Cerje tower, have a rest & snack in the village of Komen and visit a castle Rihemberk on the way back to the resort. A fantastic tour for electric mountainbike!

The Vipava river bike tour
Less busy side roads and gravel roads lead you along the Vipava River throughout the Vipava valley! This trip is also suitable for families, since the route is mostly flat. A great all day trip with many refreshments along the Vipava river and interesting places to see along the way.

Vitovlje – a source of mysterious energy
Due to its steep incline, this exceptionally picturesque cycling tour is suitable for better prepared cyclists, and is accessible to almost everyone by e-bikes! Vitovlje opens one of the most beautiful views over the Vipava valley. On a beautiful sunny day you may even see all the way to Venice!

The Karst loop with Štanjel old town
Meet the old town of Štanjel! Cycle through a beautiful green valley and climb to beautiful Karst hilltop village. Meet the wild side of Karst landscape on the way through tiny countryside villages, known for its tradition of drying Karst prosciutto! On the way back to Camp Saksida, you may also visit Rihemberk Castle above the village of Branik. This tour is of medium difficulty, you`ll need a good pair of legs or an E-bike to really enjoy it!

Gorizia hills and emerald Soca river
A real road cycling gem!!! If you`re riding a road bike, the tour of choice should be Gorizia hills! Great views, quality roads and little traffic! This micro-region is often called a Slovenian Tuscany and you are soon about to discover why. It`s hilly, it’s amazingly beautiful and covered with vineyards! When leaving Gorizia hills behind, have a look at the emerald Soča river and the biggest single-stone-arch bridge in the world!
